Mike Porcaro
Mike Porcaro
Майкъл Джозеф "Майк" Поркаро е роден на 29 май 1955 г. в Хартфорд, Кънектикът. Той свири на бас на няколко неофициални сесии с групата още през 1970 г. но не е признат за официален член на групато до 1982 (малко след издаването на Toto IV); замествайки Дейвид Хънгейт, who departed for a session career in Nashville. According to Toto guitarist Steve Lukather, Porcaro would have been an original member of the band, but the record label wanted to retain the lineup's successful chemistry from Boz Scaggs' critically acclaimed Silk Degrees album (as Hungate, Lukather and other members of Toto were Scagg's backing band at the time).

Porcaro also played cello on the song "Good for You" on Toto IV. He quickly replaced Hungate on bass for the album's music videos and subsequent tour.

He is the middle brother of acclaimed session musicians, and former Toto members, Jeff Porcaro and Steve Porcaro. Their father is the famous jazz drummer/percussionist, Joe Porcaro. Toto grew out of the band Rural Still Life at Grant High in Van Nuys, CA. Mike's first girlfriend at Grant High was Jessie Nelson, now a producer/director/screenwriter (Corinna, Corinna; I Am Sam).

Porcaro endorses Peavey, Sugi and Hoffner bass guitars.

He has also influenced In Flames' bassist, Peter Iwers.[1]
